Association of Physics Teachers , Kozhikode, ( APT Kozhikode)was established in the year of1996with the aim of upgrading the quality of Physics teaching strategies and learning processes.For the last 30 years, APT Kozhikode has conducted so many refresher courses, work shops, seminars etc for both teachers ans students across Keralam.

History
A journey of Academic Collaboration
Foundation and Community Building
The District Association of Physics Teachers(DAPT) was established in 1996 with the objective of promoting physics education in higher secondary schools across the kozhikode district .In earlier years the activities of the association was confined to some academic discussions and meetings at the district head quarters. Later in 1998 as the plus two course became one of the major streams in the realm of education ,its reflections fall on the working of DAPT also.The setup which was working till then with a convener grew up to a 16 member executive, a president, one vice president ,a secretary, one joint secretary and a treasurer. With this strong setup DAPT began to lay hands on different areas of higher secondary education.
Practical classes and examination
In the absence of proper orders and directions from the authorities, there was no uniformity in either conducting or evaluating practicals during that time. As a first step toward improving this situation, a practical textbook was prepared, printed, and distributed throughout the district in 1999. Also to ensure uniformity in evaluation a common question paper with common norms of evaluation was introduced. The association was making this move one year before the implimentation of question paper and valuation scheme by the directorate of HSE. Even now the association is providing necessary helps to the district authorities to ensure the smooth conducting of the examination.
Wireless Network Programme
In the year 2000, the association took a revolutionary step by deciding to establish a wireless network among various higher secondary schools in the Kozhikode district. As an initial step, teachers were provided with ASOC exam training classes covering both theory and practice. An exam center was sanctioned at Model HSS, and almost all the members who appeared for the exam passed and obtained their licenses. Although the association originally intended to purchase the necessary wireless equipment and complete the program in the following years, the project was halted due to the rapid rise of mobile phones during that period.
Talent Tests and Orientation programme for students
Talent test to identify and encourage students interested in physics and technology has been conducted since 2001.Selected students were given physics books as gifts and provided opertunity to participate in expert classes either in sub district level or in district level. In later years the selection to the prestigious programme of the association “ The Kerala Physics Congress “ was also made based on the result of this test. Further to develope problem solving abilities of students four work books with more than 40 problems each with hints were printed and distributed. This books were prepared in a workshop held at Asma Tower calicut . More than 24 higher secondary Teachers of the district participated in the workshop.
Hand book for Teachers
The first hand book cum diary in higher secondary sector containing govt orders,important phone numbers,school details, other educational offices details was printed and distributed in 2003. The same with more pages and details has been released in next year also. As web sites popularised in later years this hand books has been replaced by diaries and this continued till now.a
Registration
In another move in 2005 the association got registration under charitable act with number 999/05
Photo Directory
In the year 2006 a photo directory of members has also been published.
Website Association
Also a web site of the association came in to existance in the year 2007 with domain name www.aptkerala.org.
First Physics Congress
In 2013, first Kerala Physics Congress was help at Permabra HSS, Perambra Kozhikode
Second Physics Congress
The next version of Kerala Physics Congress was held at Permabra HSS in this year
Declaration of Annual Physics Congress,Revision Examinations
In 2023 , APT Kozhikode declared to restart Kerala Physics Congress. Every year different premier Institutes have been colloborated to KPC.First Revision Examination Series for Plus One and Plus Two students commenced.
Academic Team
A new academic team was formed and they prepared different study materials for students and distr electronic media. It was widely acccepted across the state.

A web documentation Platform was established.
